    Vision correction with iLASIK

A lot of bloggers and computer professionals I know wear glasses or contact lenses and wish they could do away with them. Most of them have heard about LASIK technology and have read up on LASIK information, but have had some doubts and confusion in their minds as to whether the procedure was safe enough to have done. But the fact is that it is extremely safe nowadays to have this procedure done. This is because an all-laser form of LASIK (called iLASIK) has been tapped by the Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA, which exceeds all established standards of safety and effectiveness. In fact, NASA and the U.S. military use it to increase the performance of their own mission-critical personnel.

In the earlier versions of LASIK, only one laser was used. However, the new iLASIK™ procedure makes use of two lasers. Firstly, to create a corneal flap (which replaces the handheld microkeratome blade used in older forms of LASIK and makes the procedure exceptionally safe). And secondly, to correct the vision. These two advanced laser technologies combine to create a custom-fit procedure clinically proven to provide the best safety and visual results. The military’s evaluation of modern LASIK in 100 military personnel showed that 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or better.

The iLASIK procedure is more affordable than you might think. Moreover, the majority of people who meet the age and general health requirements are good candidates for it. You should be at least 21 years of age, in good general health, have had a stable vision prescription for at least one year, and have no existing eye diseases.
