    Monetization Widgets

Putting widgets on one’s blog or website is the latest trend these days. Widgets such as those from WidgetBucks let you monetize your website. Some widget service providers operate under a PPC scheme, others behave like text link ads, and yet others as leverage affiliate links. Their main characteristic, however, is that they work as web widgets, which makes it easier for the blog/website owner to just plug and play the service on their website. Read more...

Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody

There’s a really cool movie coming up called “Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody”. Bleach is a very popular Manga, and a favorite of many.

This movie is only available on June 11 and June 12 at 7:30 PM in theatres. Advance purchase tickets are available by entering your zip code in the "Find Theatres" box at the website or at the theatre box office.

If I were to have my own powerful Manga character name, it would be “Master” and I would be a storehouse of knowledge. I would also pass my knowledge around to others and use it to help society!

Another way of earning money from your website is by placing a “Donate” link or button (usually via PayPal) on your website. This is especially a good idea if your blog deals with a niche topic/area where your readers really learn and gain value from your content. What you can do is, at the end of every post, you can write something like: “If you liked this article and found it useful, please consider making a donation to support this site” or “If you liked this post, please buy me a cup of coffee”, and place your “Donate” button nearby. Save your hard-earned money while shopping

For times like Christmas, when my gift expenditure shoots through the roof, I always shop on Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving when major retailers around the country discount products to help kick off the Christmas shopping season. The related Black Friday ads are usually kept secret until they come out in the circulars in the Thanksgiving Day newspaper. However, the website will give an advantage to shoppers this Christmas because they’ll show all of the Black Friday 2008 ads before anyone else. They’ll also offer direct links to each product so you can purchase the items online on Black Friday without the hassle of having to stand in line at the store at 5am!

Many of my favourite merchants are listed there like Babies R Us, Home Depot, JC Penney, JoAnn Fabrics, Lane Bryant, Macys, Radio Shack, Tommy Hilfiger, Toys R Us, Value City, Walmart, etc.

The site also offers email alerts that let you know when new bfads have been posted. This is indeed a consumer friendly site that was useful for planning my holiday shopping last year. No doubt I’ll be using it again this year! Read more...

                    In-text advertising

Have you seen links on various websites that have a double underline to differentiate them from normal links, and whenever you roll your mouse over the link, the advertising pops up? Well, that’s in-text advertising at work. Networks place sponsored links inside your text and, if the visitor clicks on it, you (the site owner) make money. A lot of people make good money with this method. However, many site owners don’t use it because they find it intrusiveness for their readers. This is corroborated by the fact that you will find very few mainstream websites who use in-text advertising. However, it’s still a good option for those looking to make money from their website. A fun game of Hide and Seek

Here’s a fun game that has to do with USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight which premieres on June 1st. The show revolves around Mary Shannon, who is based in the greater Albuquerque/Santa Fe area and protects and manages relocated Federal Witnesses who come from all over the country. The witnesses under her care can be anything from career criminals, congenital liars, thieves and murderers to those who have had the misfortune of witnessing or falling victim to a crime.

Now coming to the game - I have posted a picture of Mary at the bottom of the right sidebar of this page, and I challenge you all to find that same image of Mary, which is hidden in the In Plain Sight website!

Let me know when you find it, by leaving your comments below! Let’s see who comes of luck!

                            Pop-ups and Pop-unders

Yet another form of web advertising, pop-ups are common yet extremely annoying. If your primary aim is to just make as much money as you can from your website, you could experiment with them. However, if you are trying to grow traffic and generate loyal visitors, you might be better off staying away from them. Just consider how many pop-up blockers are out there: there is a reason why they are so popular. Read more...

                                Where would you go?

USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight is one drama I’m really looking forward to. It’s that all-new crime drama starring Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal attached to the highly secretive Federal Witness Protection Program (WITSEC). Mary helps her witnesses establish new lives while protecting them from a myriad of threats. For the witnesses, testifying means leaving behind everything and everyone they know, cutting off all contact, changing identities and relocating to the unfamiliar southwest to build a new life as the reward for their good deed.

This made me sit back and think about which city I would choose to relocate to if I had to be moved as a part of the Witness Protection Program. It didn’t take me long to zero in on Los Angeles. Woo-hoo, how I love that city - the sun, the beaches, the lifestyle, and everything else! Check out this pic of Santa Monica Beach on the left.

Where would you go if you were in the Witness Protection Program?

                                    Audio Ads

Audio ads are also known as PPP (Pay Per Play). This is a method of advertising introduced by Net Audio Ads. How does it work? Well, the concept is pretty simple. You play a small advertising audio (usually 5 seconds) every time a visitor enters into your website. As the user usually can’t stop it, it creates a 100% conversion rate based on unique visitors. Read more...

Have you heard about USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight? Its series premiere is coming up soon on June 1st. The show is essentially about Mary Shannon, who is based in the greater Albuquerque/Santa Fe area and protects and manages relocated Federal Witnesses who come from all over the country.

Well, I was just visiting the In Plain Sight website and reading the character bios available, and I found that I can really relate to Mary Shannon. Although I don’t hide my job from my friends and family, but I do tend to soften the rough edges of news which may be unpleasant or which they may not like. In that sense, I like to “protect” my family and friends.

That said, one of my friends is a bit like Brandi Shannon, in the sense that she lives in the moment, is not bothered to get an education, and tends to fall for the worst possible men!

What about you - which character can you relate to?

                                                Offering Consulting and Related Services

If you have a blog (or are planning to set one up), then depending on your niche, you could make money by offering consulting and related services. You can offer these services either online or offline. In the case of offline, you would be using your blog primarily as a means to get customers, whom you would then provide your services to offline. For example, a dentist who sets up a blog can use it as a means to develop a customer base. Those customers would contact him for any treatments. The blog would also help him further develop good relationships with his customers.

Someone who has an online resource, such as for searching career colleges, can also add a blog to their website to make it more appealing to readers.

Another plus point of having a blog is that, if you are also the author of your blog, the articles and information that you will post will build and promote your profile. They will also possible certify your expertise in that niche, making it easier to gain customers. Read more...

                                                      • Eliminate student frustrations by limiting the number of schools that contact them

                                                        Job Boards

Many of the popular blogs these days are trying to leverage job boards to earn some extra income. There are a couple of prerequisites for this, though. First of all, in order to create an active and profitable job board, you should first have a blog focused on a specific niche. Secondly, you should have a decent amount of traffic.

Job boards are advantageous to have because they are passive. That is, once you have the necessary structure in place, the job listings will come naturally. And then, you can charge anywhere from $10 up to $100 for each job listing. Read more...

So, I looked around and found a great printer ink cartridge company online called Pacific Ink, which offers a full line of top quality inkjet cartridges, toner cartridges, fax cartridges, refill kits and recycling mailers for a wide variety of printer manufacturers.

They offer guaranteed high quality, low cost canon ink cartridges, epson ink cartridges, and dell printer cartridges for your printer. Moreover, you can also give their top quality remanufactured cartridges a try - they are much better for your wallet and the planet!

They sell high quality printer ink cartridges at prices up to 70% less than what your printer manufacturer charges. This value combined with their easy ordering process, free shipping, and direct to door delivery has made Pacific Ink one of the Internet's fastest growing ink cartridge providers.

Moreover, they also offer a “Hassle Free Guarantee” on each and every one of their printer cartridges. It covers the following:

                                                                              • Price: If you find the exact same Pacific Ink product for less somewhere else, they will refund you 100% of the difference (this doesn’t apply to printer manufacturer (OEM) brand cartridges).
                                                                              • Quality: If for any reason you are not satisfied with the quality of the printer cartridge you purchased from Pacific Ink, they will replace it right away or provide your money back - no questions asked. They offer this guarantee 65 days from the day you make your purchase.
                                                                              • Your Printer: They guarantee your printer! They are so confident in the quality of the printer cartridges they offer that, if a licensed technician determines that a cartridge purchased from Pacific Ink is the direct source of any problem with your printer, they will replace your printer or reimburse you for the repair at their cost.
The bottom line? Their ink cartridges are easy to buy, easy to use, and easy to return as you can contact them by phone and they will immediately work with you to remedy the situation.

                                                                                Using other people's content

Sometimes it happens that, while surfing the web, you find some content that someone else has written, which you feel is worthwhile to share with your own readers as well. So what do you do? Can you just use that other person’s content outright? If you are able to get appropriate permission from the person who owns the copyright to that content, then yes, you can.

Another way to share such content with your readers is by providing a link to the respective page. This often makes for time saving, as you don’t have to write the content yourself, but you are still sharing information with your readers and not leaving them neglected. It also makes you come across as the person who's screening the entire realm of knowledge in your field, and then picking and choosing a select few to share with your audience. In other words, you can be perceived as an expert and a trusted resource in this manner. Read more...

On the internet, it’s very easy to find information and what you post on your blog or website can be found by anyone even months and years down the line. Is that good or bad? While it should be a good thing, it can often turn out to be bad too and, well, often disastrous. This is because if you're less than impeccable with your word, it might come back to haunt you.

So, when you post content on the web, keep your sense of social responsibility right up there at the top. If you act with honesty and integrity, you’ll be just fine.

myUsearch is a new college matching service devoted to helping prospective college students find the school that is right for them. The myUsearch Smart Questionnaire narrows down matches based on objective criteria and can save students hours and hours of time trying to find schools that match their interests and personality.

                                                                                              This is how myUsearch works:

                                                                                              • You tell them where you want to go to college. They'll show you if they're a good match or not, and why.
                                                                                              • You’ll get a guided college match that is tailored to you.
                                                                                              • With each answer, you’ll know how many college matches you have.
                                                                                              • You’ll know why colleges are a match.
                                                                                              • You get instant results. No waiting to find out which colleges are best.
                                                                                              • You can tell them which of your colleges you want to connect with.

One thing I’ve noticed about a few bloggers that I know is that they go unnecessarily overboard in their attempt to develop “perfect” content. For example, they will put in too many hours and too much energy writing a single blog post, making sure they have each and every possible existing point within that post.

What’s wrong with this, you ask? Well, in economics, there's something known as the Law of Diminishing Returns. What it essentially states is that, beyond a certain point, the effort you put into improving something will cost you more than what you get out of that effort. This same principle applies to producing content. You can invest weeks, months, and years toiling and editing and trying to get everything "just right." Or, you can send off your post as soon as you’re satisfied that it sends across your chosen message. The second option is the smart approach, because not only does your content reach your audience faster, but you also are able to work on your next endeavor sooner. That’s precious time saved, isn’t it? Read more...

WujWuj is easy. In 3 easy steps, the occasion you envision will be created. The friends and family members you invite will be able to participate. These are the 3 steps:

Step 1: Start a new occasion - Answer a few simple questions about the occasion or event. Upload images or a video if you wish.

Step 2: Search for gift(s) - Easily locate whatever gifts you would like to associate with the occasion.

Step 3: Add contacts - Invite as many friends and family members as you wish.

WujWuj collects the funds from your friends and family. They buy the items and ship them to you. They do all the work. They realize that you have other more important things to worry about, like getting the party ready!

So remember, Dont Just Buy It, WujWuj It!

Just like you can’t shove food down somebody’s throat, similarly you can’t shove information into somebody’s brain. Overwhelming the reader with an information overload will not only bore them, it will also put extra pressure on you to repeatedly produce a similar amount of information consistently in the future as well.

However, if you do want to offer some detailed information about a certain topic, what you can do is offer the reader only a small paragraph on your main page, and then also provide a link there to the detailed page. The site is really awesome. It’s based on the social networking theme whereby not only do you get paid blogging assignments, you also get to interact with fellow bloggers and build community. This also means more traffic for your blog and a higher PageRank. Moreover, each sponsored link created in SocialSpark carries a “no-follow” tag to protect bloggers and advertisers from getting penalties in search engines, especially on their page rank in Google.

The whole website of SocialSpark is pretty easy to navigate and is user-friendly. It would be nice if they could also keep some kind of icon or indicator on the main opportunities page right next to each Opp, so that we could tell right there from the main page whether we have already taken that Opp, whether it’s currently reserved for us, or whether we are currently “waiting for the opportunity”. That would really save on the time that is spent opening each Opp up separately and checking what the current status of it is.

For most bloggers and webmasters, creating content to help get their message out to their readers can be a really daunting task.

Whether you choose newsletters, webinars, comic strips, or whatever to get your content out there, recycling content is one of the ways you can make your task of developing content much easier.

How does recycling work? Well, if you’ve already provided content in some other form, be it answers you've given to your clients/colleagues/friends, etc. in emails, phone calls, in person, etc. – you can use that content to develop more content. For example, if one person has asked you a question, it’s quite possible others want to know the answer too. Providing this answer on your website not only makes you look like an expert, but you also don’t have to answer the question again. Read more...

With respect to the Dockers contest that’s going on, you can create a TV commercial featuring a Dockers take on your chosen fashion trend or style, and submit that for the contest. It would make a good choice for an entry.

For example, do you have any particular personal style that you follow when dressing? My personal dress style is casual. Even while dressing up for occasions, I prefer clothes that are comfortable. I also like to observe and follow the fashion style of a few celebrities which I identify with. Celebrity fashion icons can give you inspiration into your own personal style and certainly can help you with choosing fashion trendy styles that will look great for your body type. However, when choosing a fashion icon to emulate, you should choose one that suits your body type. They should rock a hot personal style that fits them like a glove. Moreover, to be a fashion icon, the man/woman must have a personal style that he/she owns, even if it is not liked by everyone. It must reflect his/her personality. It also must of course be fashion forward and suit his/her body perfectly.

I personally like Jessica Alba’s style. Many people who start an online business struggle with the decision to use a brand as their domain name. Or they wonder if they should incorporate keywords into their domain name in an effort to rank better in the search engines.

Since domains are inexpensive, and redirects are easy to set up, you can even purchase both brand and keyword domain names.

However, just make sure you select a domain name relating to your core business. Your domain name should reinforce your brand and corporate identity.

Another important point is to check carefully for trademark infringements so that you can avoid them. Search the USPTO website at for any existing trademarks.

Also, be wary of using the location in the domain name unless you only serve a specific region. This is because a geo-specific domain will limit your company's growth capacity in case you ever want to expand into other regions. Read more...

Well, it’s coming to select movie theatres nationwide for two nights only - May 20th and 21st at 7:30 PM! It’s based on the hit supernatural action-mystery manga, and follows the story of Light Yagami, an ace student who finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god named Ryuk. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals mysteriously begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective "L" to investigate, and he is soon hot on the trail of Light, who must now reevaluate his noble goal. Both Light and L believe themselves to be on the side of justice, and the two match wits as they attempt to prove which one of them is "good" and which one of them is "evil."

I feel that my instinct is VERY strong, and I can usually predict whether something’s going to go right or wrong. What about you?

Purchasing domain names is very simple and inexpensive these days. Thus, if you are seriously considering an online business, it’s a good idea to register multiple domain names that are related to your main domain name. Then what you can do is to permanently redirect the additional domains to your main domain. Often people buy names that use common misspellings and plurals too, so that even in the case that someone misspells the name, they’ll still be sure to capture all of the traffic.

Another thing you can do is to purchase common extensions for your domain (for example, .net, .org, etc). Why? This will protect your brand. You may also consider purchasing country extensions if you sell globally (ie. .uk, .au, .fr, etc). Read more...

With the Dockers contest still going on, I have been requested by a few of my readers to suggest some story ideas for videos, which they can then submit to the Dockers TV Commercial Contest (

This got me exercising my grey cells and thinking on the “A day in the life of my pants” theme. Specifically, about what a day in the life of my silk trousers is like. Now, those beauties have a blessed and privileged life! Being expensive, they are worn with great care not to get them dirty or spill anything on them. They are handled very delicately and only dry cleaned. Also, when they are worn, they are usually accessorized with a nice expensive leather belt. I also have a unique beaded belt which goes very well with these silk pants, and I wear that when I want to spruce up my look a bit. It’s no wonder that they are always admired by their owner (me) as well as others. I think this would make a nice subject for a story.

I also got a few more ideas whilst browsing through the Dockers website. Depending upon the cloth of the pants (strong, delicate, etc.) and the occasion you would normally wear it for, you can think of some story on that line and then submit your story to the Dockers contest. Best of luck!

Now, this friend of mine is a real horror movie buff. You name it, he’s seen them all. This one, however, made him shake and quiver. The story is about a couple who is on the run from authorites and who go to a hide-away inn to try to escape. But they are in for a surprise when the inn keeper turns the torturer. Soon, the situation transforms into a nightmare of pain for them. To find out the outcome, and if anyone will survive the horror, you'll have to check out the movie for yourself.

So check out the select theater listings that will be showing this new scare movie. You’re in for luck if you live near one of them, as Frontier(s) is being released to a limited group of theatres for a one week period only. If you are not able to get to one of the theatres showing the film, don't worry, as it has been released on DVD on May 13th.

Just remember, this film is uncut and unrated, since it’s got so much gore and violence that it would have been rated NC-17. Most unrated movies don't even make it to the theaters, but this film is. See the Trailer to get a sneak preview.

Choosing the right domain name is one of the most important steps in establishing an online presence. This is because it's difficult to change a domain once you've started with it since it can be harmful to search engine ranking. Hence, it's vital to get it right the first time around.

Steps to selecting a good domain name:

Stick with .com or .net domains for businesses, .edu for schools, and .org for non-profit organizations.

Domain names should be easy to say, so select a domain name that is clear and easy to understand without having to repeat it.

Select a domain that is easy to spell. Shorter domains are easy to remember, so if possible, avoid selecting a domain name that is excessively long as well. Read more...

Well, what would you know, they’ve actually invented one now. It’s a cool new educational kids clock called Teach Me Time Clock that helps kids learn the time. For children just out of the crib, Teach Me Time! features a dual-color nightlight that turns green when it's "Ok to wake!” There’s also a unique "Green means go" feature that’s convenient for the problem of young children bounding out of bed at very early hours. There are tons of other great features too – check it out!

If you haven’t already gone over there to take a peek, do try to do so soon. There’s one video by the author “roberto.gudino” that’s quite funny and which particularly caught my fancy. He talks about how Dockers are good for wearing at “wurk”, over the “weak end”, for playing “gulf”, and on those occasions when you want to “drees” up. Now that’s a whole lot of spelling mistakes right there, but it does add to the humor factor and gives the video that much-needed uniqueness required to stand out.

That said, there’s still plenty of room for improvement and I know that my dear readers have what it takes to blow away the competition thus far. So my piece of advice is to pile on the humor when you enter your videos for this

This is why it’s important to have keywords and phrases on your pages that describe your service and products in an optimal manner. For example, supposing if you are a florist, you can use keywords such as florist, online florist, virtual florist, wedding florist, florist on line, flowers, floral, bouquets, floral arrangements, etc. And you should use these as many times as you can to ensure a higher search engine ranking.

A friend of mine in Seattle who was in the mood for watching a Horror Movie went over to see Frontier(s) which is currently running at the Landmark in Seattle, WA. Now, being the horror aficionado that he is, he is the one person I can count on to give me an unbiased picture of how scary a horror flick really is. It figures then that, when he told me he could barely sit through the movie because he was getting too scared, I knew this one was exceptional.

That, and also the fact that this film is uncut and unrated. Why? Because it’s got so much gore and violence that it would have been rated NC-17. (Did you know that most unrated movies don't even make it to the theaters, but this film is?) Understandably, this movie is not suitable for all audiences. But that’s really a no-brainer because just looking at the poster can send chills down one’s spine. If you have the guts, just hop on right over to the website to view the trailer at A piece of advice – don’t watch the trailer after having eaten a meal, or you might puke! One thing’s for sure…if you love blood, this is the horror movie for you.

One of the most important requirements of your website is that it should be visitor friendly. That is, your visitor (your reader/customer) must be able to navigate through the website and locate what they are looking for easily and quickly.

The simpler the navigation bar, the easier it is to navigate. Most websites have their navigation bar displayed either on the left sidebar or at the top. These are good options because most people are used to this type of navigation. Additionally, your navigation bar should also at the bottom of each page as well, so that your visitors don’t have to keep scrolling all the way back to the top. Read more...

Does exercise that’s fun and easy seem too good to be true to you? It did to me too, when I first heard about the concept of rebounding with the Cellerciser. But when I read about the Dave Hall Half-Fold Rebounder in detail and the scientific basis for it, I knew this is something I need to get.

According to NASA, rebounding is "the most efficient and effective exercise yet devised by man" and 68% more efficient than treadmills, but not very many people know about it.

How does it work? Well, typical exercise is limited to specific muscles or muscle groups. However, cellercise works by increasing the weight of gravity on every cell of your body over 100 times per minute. That means every muscle, bone, ligament, tendon, connective tissue, even the collagen and skin. The whole body begins to grow stronger, leaner, and more toned from the inside out.

                                                                                                                                                                                      Rebounding with the Cellerciser will:

                                                                                                                                                                                      • Melt away fat and cellulite

Cellerciser is a top of the line rebounder with the best construction in the market.

Is your FireFox running slow? Well, there’s a really easy tweak available that can make it much faster, which I found on this page.

Here’s how you do the tweak:

                                                                                                                                                                                          1. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

                                                                                                                                                                                          network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining, it will make several requests at once, which really speeds up page loading.

                                                                                                                                                                                          2. Alter the entries as follows:

                                                                                                                                                                                          Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

                                                                                                                                                                                          Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

                                                                                                                                                                                          3. Lastly, right-click anywhere and select New -> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

This fix worked like a charm and my FireFox is super-fast now. I recommend you also perform this tweak if you haven’t already. Read more...

I'm a die-hard fan of the series, and now I got to see AVPR for myself as the DVD was released on May 12th.

I've always been huge on the idea of an “Alien vs Predator” because I've always been fascinated with the battle of these two sci-fi titans. The Predator is a hunter pure and simple and the Aliens are breeding monsters that infest every world they touch. Understandably, the showdown between Alien and Predator was one mind-blowing experience. It had a creative story-line, good acting and awesome action scenes.

AVPR has made an awesome flick that makes people jump. It’s not like other horror movies that are too realistic where you can’t even watch it. With the sci-fi characters, viewers are able to enjoy it because there’s no way anyone is taking it too seriously.

What a clash of titans and an incredible entertainment spectacle as well. Let the carnage begin!

Do you prefer Internet Explorer or FireFox?

I used to use IE, but found IE took a helluva long time to launch after I clicked on its icon. Then, after that, it took a helluva long time to download the webpage. I also found that I couldn’t navigate properly on some sites. For example, over the past few weeks it seems some sites that used to show up just fine in IE are all moved around or backgrounds are disappearing.

So someone offered their two cents saying this might be an individual browser issue, and suggested I use FireFox instead. Well, what would you know, it worked. All the issues I had are in the past now. And thank God, it was driving me crazy! So, in my case, I prefer FireFox at present. Read more...

As I stated earlier, getting a good Google PageRank is an important step to getting more traffic for your blog. If you have your own website or blog, you probably already know how difficult it is to get not only links, but good quality ones. Searching for sites related to yours, and then mailing the webmasters to request them to exchange links with you is not only time consuming, but also not always successful. You may not get a reply, or they may not be interested (especially if you yourself have a low PR).

However, a good idea is to try to get links from an edu link (for example, because it’s much better than linking to a .com, .net, .us, or .info. Why? Well, the main reason is that EDU and ORG links are pretty well established and moreover, there are not a large number of these types of websites. Only registered educational foundations or government agencies are allowed to get these. Plus, websites with the EDU extension are usually reputed websites with thousands or even millions of incoming links (many of them one-way links).

Thus, try to get a link from one of the dot EDU sites so that you can get a higher ranking for your website. However, just make sure that the site has content that’s relevant to your blog or website. You should also try to do this not at one go, but over a period of time, gradually, so that search engines like Google or Yahoo don’t get suspicious.

Newsletters can really help you boost your blog’s traffic and popularity. They are considered to be an important marketing tool. Why?

First of all, they help in promoting your blog. They allow you to periodically send the latest information and changes about your blog to your readers. You can also request feedback and just keep in touch with them. Often you may like to get some information from your subscribers.

They help you to make money from your blog. Once you accumulate a good number of subscribers to your newsletter, they can be informed about new posts that you publish. Similarly, if you have a product to sell, they can also be informed about that product. This way, you’ll get more traffic, more advertisements, more sales, and finally more revenue.

You can make special announcements. Sometimes you have something to announce to those people who do not visit your blog regularly. In such cases, you can send them an announcement about something that interests them and thereby pull them back to your blog. Read more...

As stated in my previous post, a blog needs traffic to survive and thrive. Traffic is the fuel that powers a blog. Increasing traffic to your site is not easy, but it’s not difficult either.

Search engines are the best source of traffic. To utilize them to the fullest, you need to create search engine friendly pages with proper meta tags. That is, your pages need to be “Search engine optimized” and also indexed by search engines like Google.

If you create a subscription box on your website, your visitors can subscribe to your posts via email or RSS feeds. Utilize the services of newsletter providers who can allow you to send periodical news letters to your regular visitors.

It’s the tragedy of our times. The very activity that provides us with money, happiness, pride, and a sense of self-worth (that is, blogging) can also have negative effects on our health. The most obvious being weight gain – especially that ugly paunch!

But the good news is that you can get rid of extra weight and also maintain a good figure/physique if you keep yourself aware and informed about your diet, your health, and your fitness. This is great for those times when you wanted to post something on a certain date but weren’t sure you would get a chance to be online at that time. It’s also really handy when you plan on going on a vacation. Just write out enough posts and then schedule them to be published on different dates throughout the period you’re away.

How exactly do you schedule a post? You just need to set a post’s publishing date into the future – then will wait to publish until that time comes. To do this, first go to the post editor page and click the “Post Options” toggle to show the “Post date and time” fields. Then, enter a post date and time that is in the future. Now, when you click on the “Publish” button, your post will become a scheduled one and will automatically be published to your blog when the date and time of the post arrive.

Neat feature, huh? You betcha I’ll be using this one. Read more...

Wow, what a beauty those machines are. I am in need of a new car and am seriously looking into buying a Chevrolet now. Can’t decide between the Aveo, the Matiz, and the Captiva, though. What say, you guys?

However, the big difference is that while YouTube doesn’t share any of the revenue/earnings they make off of the ads that are displayed on your videos (not fair, huh?), does and you get paid.

How exactly does the process work? Well, when you upload a video, some ads like Google Adsense ads are shown. You will be paid 50% of the earnings from the ads. The reason why this is appealing is that you don’t have to bother about the page creation or maintenance, since all that is taken care of by Revver.

What about the payments? They are done on a monthly basis via PayPal and the minimum payout is $20. Viewing your earnings and the statistics of the videos that you have uploaded is quite simply done through the interface.

This is a good site to look into if you use video posts, as you can earn without any extra effort. If you have videos of personal experiences to share, you can upload those too. Just make sure you don’t upload any copyrighted videos. The maximum video size that you can upload is 100MB. Processing and approval of the video is done before the video comes online. Read more...

We bloggers are able to reach out to thousands and millions of people around the world through the power of our words. We can give our opinion on and endorse brands, products, and services. We can drive sales. And consequently, we can influence the very bottom line of business - the revenue and profitability factor. All said and done, we can make or break a brand.

Once you Register at as a publisher, your website can potentially attract ads from advertisers across the globe, which of course can ensure you of a constant stream of advertising revenue.

So basically you can get the burden of trying to sell your website ad space off your back, by letting Tyroo take care of it. You can focus on your core competency (that is, writing posts!) and just enjoy the revenues that your website has the potential to make.

Tyroo's service ensures that even the most highly targeted content gets the advertiser it deserves. I see that most of the advertisers at the moment are Indian websites and companies.

I haven't tried Tyroo out myself yet, but if you happen to do so, do let me know how it goes for you. But probably, in your hurry to finish signing up, you don't even bother to go through those TOS, right? If so, that's not uncommon - I would guess at least 80% of people don't. Heck, when I was a newbie, even I never used to bother. However, the fact is that it's important to go through every program's TOS before you tick that agree box. Otherwise, you may face a lot of problems/issues later on due to this. Read more...

You know that already, right? But what you probably didn’t know is that I love fashion too. In fact, I also admire a few celebrities that are fashion icons, whom I often try to model my dressing style on, such as Katie Holmes. Her dress sense is very casual and laid back. She can wear just about anything and it would look good. She has this trendy, sophisticated appeal that’s simple yet not too simple. She also looks comfortable in whatever she wears, and that’s probably because she wears comfortable clothes in the first place. I prefer the same fashion style that she has, and that’s why you’ll mostly find me wearing a lot of casual clothes such as jeans and trousers.

One of my friends also shares the same fashion style as me and has recently bought a new pair of trousers from the Dockers store. She’s going to be submitting a story regarding her style to the Dockers contest very soon, which I can't wait to go through. If any of you also submit your stories (or even videos) to the contest (it’s at, let me know - I’ll be eager to see all of them. Here’s an idea: you can create the commercial featuring a Dockers take on a “casual” fashion style.
